PRIME AE Group (), a multi-discipline architecture and engineering firm with 17 office locations and over 430 employees within the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast Regions, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op for our Akron, OH or Baltimore, MD offices to join the existing MEPFT Team for the Summer of 2022.

  • You will be involved in designing various types of mechanical systems utilized within the respective markets listed above.
  • In addition, this role will assist field staff, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design during construction.
Job Summary:
  • Students pursuing a BSME degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Willingness to learn about mechanical systems such as HVAC/Piping/Plumbing/Medical Gas and Fire Suppression.
  • Systems and software to learn includes AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, and/or similar design software applications.
  • Experience about a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Take part in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities.
  • Learn and apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local and building codes, discipline, divisions and firm.
  • Employ excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Take part in creating and evolving system designs from concept to final construction document phase.
  • Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques in order to develop creative, innovative solutions.
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking.
