THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES As an Operations Analyst intern in our North America Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our Product Readiness Team to ensure all product-related technology roll-outs have integrated operational requirements and operational processes and therefore, once released, the product delivery process and customer experience is optimum. This team is the voice of service delivery and has a direct impact on Lumen and its customers. Tasks during the 10 weeks will also include contributing to strategic planning using data in product simplification to reduce complexity in the operational environment and to reduce operational cost. You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions, learn quickly, and work in a team environment. Other tasks may include: - Data analysis of operational metrics by product, including figuring out where to find the data. - Creating a repeatable process to pull product metrics easily/quickly. - Defining processes after interviewing business owners and documenting workflows using Visio. - Creating diagrams to depict business problems and solutions. - Tracking and updating the progress of various product programs WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE - Education Requirements - Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university- rising senior or masters level status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 May 2023. - Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Science, MIS, CIS, Business, Analytics, or a related field. - Proficiency and understanding of: - Microsoft Suites - Proficient or better with Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint - Nice to have: Familiarity with Agile development process and tools like JIRA and Confluence - Professional Attributes - Strong drive for results/solutions and taking initiative to solve problems - Analytical and curious mind; the ability to ask the "why" questions - Desire to learn and improve things. "Can X be done differently? - Ability to be resourceful and adaptable- independently and in a team environment - Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Flexible and adapts well to change - Work Setting - Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield, CO or Remote/Work From Home - Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours a week during the 10-week program (June August) - Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations) - US work authorization WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT After completion and submission of your application, you will be asked to participate in a virtual video interview.
