Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator will take the lead on all Maintenance functions within the service center. You will ensure the safe and appropriate operation of equipment by proper diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of production/processing machinery and other mechanical equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot PLC controls and VFD drives
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of critical thinking skills and machine instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and process issues
  • Identify and troubleshoot all elements of automation, such as:
    • steam boiler
    • forklifts
    • hydraulic systems
    • pneumatic systems
    • pumps
    • conveyor systems
    • electrical distribution systems
    • HVAC systems
    • motors and motor controls
  • Execute the preventive maintenance plans
  • Organize, create inventory, and order spare parts
  • Work directly with parts vendors and machine shops to source parts
  • Help implement all pertinent OSHA, HACCP/Food Safety and internal safety standards
  • Assist in developing safety inspections, audits, and safety goals with a team
  • Promote safety awareness and safe work practices
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Lockout/Tagout Program

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience preferably within the Dairy, Food, and/or Beverage industry
  • Effective troubleshooting skills; must be able to systematically diagnose electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical problems
  • Working knowledge of boilers, PLC's, electrical, VFD drives, compressors, process instrumentation, and industrial wash machines
  • Working knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of PLC's (not programming), experience with Allen Bradley PLC's is a plus
  • Understanding of working with 480v/3 phase electrical system
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on company/maintenance needs to include some weekend hours and on-call
  • PC skills Microsoft Office Suite Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Familiarity with boilers and MIG/TIG welding is a plus
