PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Work as a team member to achieve department goals and overall company goals. Assist the producers in servicing a book of business, including new and renewal marketing and placement, providing support to producers to facilitate account growth. Provides direction to Commercial Lines CSR's and trainees as necessary. Demonstrates leadership skills and continually leads by example. Actively supports and incorporates company mission and core values into daily activities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates expirations with producers and/or account executive to obtain renewal and/or new business information. Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts. Meet weekly with producers to review upcoming renewals.
  2. Identifies policies requiring renewal attention for surplus lines or agency billed policies and sends carriers renewal changes in time. Prepare presentation packages and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier. Renewal offers delivered to clients 30 days prior to expiration. Occasionally meet with customers on larger accounts.
  3. Reviews renewal policies and offers suggestions or recommendations on coverage gaps.
  4. Processes, maintains, and prepares renewal accounts for marketing, placement and delivery to producers or clients as directed. Verify all policies listed on the expirations list have been renewed or rewritten and remarket as needed. Inform and educates clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures, documents accordingly.
  5. Conducting account reviews - Complete account reviews and contact clients via phone call on 100% of assigned accounts each week. This includes:
    1. Pre-call account review
    2. Verifying contact information
    3. Reviewing potential discounts and coverage gaps, including lines of business not written with the agency
  6. Sending out follow up email or letter for client who we do not speak to on the initial outbound phone call.
  7. Prior to remarketing, determine reason for increase, review alternate ways to decrease the premium through additional discounts, change of billing plan, or increased deductibles.
  8. Also discuss the repercussions of rewriting an account. Treat remarkets like a new business in terms of underwriting questions and gathering any other pertinent information.
  9. Receives phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims, or administrative problems, and comply with the request and/or refer to the producer only when necessary.
  10. Maintains electronic and/or paper files in an orderly up-to-date manner with full policy detail and uses the system for all notes and diaries.
  11. Maintains a suspense system to follow up with carrier on outstanding endorsements, new business policies, correspondence, and reports and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
  12. Attends appropriate internal and external meetings relating to banking and insurance.
  13. Performs all account transactions including binders, certificates, billing, and process finance agreements.
  14. Embraces the Bank's commitment to SOLUTIONS by seeking and recognizing opportunities to refer new business to different areas of the Bank, BayCoast Insurance Group, Plimoth Investment Advisors, BayCoast Financial, and BayCoast Mortgage.
  15. Performs additional duties at management's request. In Senior Accountant's absence.
  16. Process agency bill deposit.
  17. Updates agency management system for cancellations and reinstatements.
  18. Be proficient and stay current with the Agency Management System, policies and procedures, and all other pertinent software programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Possesses a supportive and responsive manner with internal and external customers.

2. Has the ability to perform multiple tasks in complex working environment accurately and proficiently.

3. Possesses above average computer knowledge and skills. Has knowledge and experience necessary for independent decision-making ability.

4. Must be licensed per state requirements. Holds a professional insurance designation.

5. Attend educational seminars. Some travel may be required.
