The Opportunity: As a Greenskeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the overall beauty and functionality of our golf course and surrounding green spaces. Your dedication and attention to detail will contribute to creating an exceptional experience for our club members and guests. This position requires a passion for outdoor work, an understanding of turf care, and a commitment to upholding the high standards of our club.

Duties and Functions:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing to ensure the golf course and landscape areas are immaculate.
  • Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to maintain proper moisture levels for different turf varieties.
  • Assist in the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to promote healthy and aesthetically pleasing turf and plant life.
  • Repair divots, ball marks, and other damage on the golf course, maintaining a smooth and even playing surface.
  • Participate in projects related to course renovations, landscaping improvements, and special events setup.
  • Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment and machinery, ensuring their proper functioning and safety.
  • Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to implement and execute a comprehensive turf care plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Uphold a safe working environment by following proper procedures and protocols.
  • Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in turf management.

Qualification Standards:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or related field preferred.
  • Solid understanding of turf grass varieties, growth patterns, and maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and their operation.
  • Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Pesticide applicator's license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, and occasional overtime as required.
