VEIR is developing a new generation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS)-based transmission lines, enabling long distance, reliable, low loss, cost-effective power transfer in far smaller right-of-ways. THE ROLE

VEIR is seeking a passionate and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in our financial success. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of a burgeoning industry, build robust financial systems, and directly impact the company's trajectory.
This is an exciting opportunity with a lot of growth potential at a dynamic startup driving global decarbonatization and grid resilience. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial modeling, proven ability to thrive in a startup environment, and is ready to step into an influential role interfacing with senior leaders and investors as VEIR prepares to raise Series B funding.
This position will be based at VEIR's headquarters in Woburn, MA, and report directly to the CFO.

You Will:
  • Provide Financial Oversight: 1) Manage month-end close process, review financial statements, and analyze financial performance against budget and projections; 2) Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers; 3) Support compliance with government or project level grants 4) Oversee the work of the bookkeeping team, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
  • Budget and Forecasting: 1) Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including building and maintaining the company financial model; 2) Prepare detailed operational and capital expenditure budgets aligned with business strategy 3) Develop accurate and insightful financial forecasts for various scenarios, providing valuable insights to the leadership team; 4) Create and present key financial dashboards to the CEO and Board, clearly communicating financial performance and trends
  • Fundraising: 1) Partner with the CEO and other executives to prepare financial materials and presentations for fundraising efforts; 2) Analyze and communicate company financials to CEO, management, and Board of Directors; 3) Support due diligence processes during fundraising rounds, providing necessary information and documentation; 4) Remain updated on industry trends and financial markets to inform strategic financial decisions; 5) Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA a plus
  • At least 4+ years of experience in financial analysis
  • Demonstrated excellence in financial modeling, ideally in investment banking or private equity
Expected Outcomes in 12 Months:
  • 3 months: You will own and operate the company financial model and play an active role in supporting the Series B fundraising process
  • 12 months: After acquiring the necessary skills, you will have set up processes for monthly and quarterly financial reporting and be prepared to oversee the annual budgeting process
