Position Title: Personal Lines Account Manager

Department: BayCoast Insurance

Primary functions

Work as a team member to achieve department goals and overall company goals. Provide directions to Personal Lines CSR's as necessary. Demonstrates leadership skills and continually leads by example. Actively supports and incorporates company mission and core values into daily activities. Assist the producer on new and renewal marketing and placement.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Inputs customer applications into the agency management system from the carrier rating system. Upload/submit application(s), photos, appraisals, etc. to be submitted to the insurance carriers for policy issuance.
  2. Checks new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, typing and coverage. Ensure that these policies are delivered and/or mailed to the client.
  3. Monitors renewal process by verifying all policies listed on the expiration list have been renewed or rewritten and remarketed as needed.
  4. Receives phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims or administrative problems, and comply with the request and/or refer to the producer only when necessary. Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts.
  5. Maintains a suspense system to follow up on outstanding endorsements, new business policies and correspondence and follows up on overdue and suspense items.
  6. Conducting account reviews - Complete account reviews and contact clients via phone call on 100% of assigned accounts each week. This includes:
      • Pre-call account review
      • Verifying contact information
      • Reviewing potential discounts and coverage gaps, including lines of business not written with the agency
  1. Sending out follow up email or letter for client who we do not speak to on the initial outbound phone call.
  2. Prior to remarketing, determine reason for increase, review alternate ways to decrease the premium through additional discounts, change of billing plan, or increased deductibles. Also discuss the repercussions of rewriting an account. Treat remarkets like a new business in terms of underwriting questions and gathering any other pertinent information.
  3. Follows the Agency program to round out personal line's accounts. Reviews account sends rounding letters; follows up. Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures, documents accordingly.
  4. Perform all account transactions including binders, billing, and follow up on routine correspondence between carriers, agency and insured. Follow up on photo requests, and any requests for additional information.
  5. Identifies policies requiring renewal attention for surplus lines or agency billed policies and sends carriers renewal changes in time. Renewal offers delivered to clients 30 days prior to expiration.
  6. Handles endorsements; takes information; generates activity; uploads changes to companies within 24 hrs.
  7. Maintains electronic and/or paper files in an orderly, up-to-date manner with full policy detail and use the system for all notes and diaries.
  8. Attends appropriate internal and external meetings relating to banking and insurance.
  9. Sells insurance products with the ability to earn commissions.
  10. Participates in the agency Incentive Pan.
  11. Embraces the Bank's commitment to SOLUTIONS by seeking and recognizing opportunities to refer new business to different areas of the Bank, BayCoast Insurance, Plimoth Investment Advisors, BayCoast Financial, and BayCoast Mortgage.
  12. Performs additional duties at management's request.

Qualifications

1. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Has a thorough understanding of personal lines underwriting and coverages.

2. Has the ability to perform multiple tasks in complex working environment accurately and proficiently.

3. Possesses above average computer knowledge and skills. Has knowledge and experience necessary for independent decision-making ability.

4. Must be licensed per state requirements. Holds the CISR Designation.

5. Attend educational seminars. Some travel may be required. May work at any branch location as needed.
