The Publications Editor will work independently under the direction of the Associate Chief for Academic Affairs and Department Director to support the professional development and research activities of over 120 Cardiology faculty members.

This Publications Editor will:
* Support the writing needs of Cardiology faculty throughout the department, as needed.
* Translate scientific terminology and concepts for clinical, scientific, and lay audiences.
* Review and edit manuscripts, chapters, grant submissions, and presentation slides.
* Review Curriculum vitae for faculty members and produce written narratives
* Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary
* Format references and book outlines.
* Format the final manuscript and figures according to specific journal requirements.
* Potential for expanded copy editing duties over time.

To qualify, you must have:
* BA degree plus a minimum of three years of related experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and use sound judgment to solve problems.
* Must be detail and deadline-oriented, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
* Basic understanding of medical terminology is strongly preferred.
* Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint).
