What You'll Do

Summary/Objective:

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for informing and guiding product and delivery strategy for multiple DCU deposit products. This role works in partnership with Product Marketing, Finance, and other internal partners to synthesize insights and feedback with financial and functional requirements. This role then prioritizes these into a product roadmap that aligns with DCU's mission and values. In a world of possibilities, this role leads the identification, prioritization, and delivery of high-impact and high-value improvements to DCU's Deposit Products. This role provides leadership to influence member-centric outcomes across teams and business units to collaboratively create the future of the banking experience at DCU.

  • Responsible for product strategy and execution of multiple deposit products in alignment with overall DCU priorities and product strategy
  • Leverages quantitative and qualitative data sources, member insights and research to identify, validate and scope product and experience developments.
  • Listens deeply to members, potential members, and partners in the financial services space to understand broader financial trends and alignment with DCU member needs and opportunities.
  • Distills insights and member feedback into business and functional/technology requirements to inform a clear vision for their deposit products of what is feasible, viable, and desirable.
  • Utilizes a "test and learn" process to validate assumptions and learn how best to meet member needs.
  • Partners with MX team to validate product concepts with research/MX community and collaborates with MX / Technology teams to oversee UX design and usability testing efforts and product iterations throughout the development lifecycle.
  • For major releases, oversee and act as SME for alpha/UAT and beta testing phases before full production rollout of new functionality.
  • Partner cross-functionally with all areas of DCU to successfully plan and execute the launch and delivery of new functionality from end-to-end, including, overseeing operational, training, user testing / validation, and go-to-market plans.
  • Accountable for the successful launch of new features to our members and employees
  • Continuously drives business efficiency and scalability, identifying and resolving inefficiencies.
  • Owns issue resolution and root cause analysis for assigned value stream.
  • Frequently reports to leadership and internal business partners on initiatives and ideas
  • Accountable for overseeing all required integration testing, validation, audits, and disaster recovery testing to ensure stable platforms and products.
  • Accountable for the timely and full remediation of complaints and escalations in assigned Value Stream
  • Be highly communicative and responsive to all stakeholders while managing a large volume of tasks and initiatives.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to drive business efficiency and scalability, identifying and resolving inefficiencies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Agile Product Manager or Product Owner Certifications

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, design, computer science, engineering, or other applicable field

Minimum Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in product management role
  • 3+ years' experience in Financial Services industry or similar highly regulated industry
  • Proven experience leading the development and delivery of financial products
  • Proficiency in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Confluence.

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years' experience in product management role
  • 5+ years's experience
  • using Agile methodologies.
  • A successful track record of ideating, building, and launching cross-platform consumer applications.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Advanced understanding of financial services, deposit products, the credit union business model, and the credit union's platforms and products and third-party integrations.
  • Knowledge of product development life cycle and intersections with DCU departments - including MX/Research, Operations, Technology and Business SMEs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with external vendors and other departmental leaders.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, even with imperfect information
  • Able to lead and influence others, even without authority, and comfortable managing through chaos, ambiguity, or complexity
  • Skilled at negotiating multiple conflicting priorities and requirements into a shared vision
  • Action oriented with a focus on delivering the best digital experience to our members
  • Metrics-driven with strong analytical and synthesis skills, including the ability to absorb and process substantial amounts of data into actionable information
  • Adaptable to constantly changing member and business needs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively convey business and member problems to business partners and development/design counterparts.
  • Ability to work independently based on high-level priorities, align day-to-day activities to assigned priorities, and incorporate feedback and take direction well.
  • Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with current members, prospective members, and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated in continuous learning and maximizing professional development to stay on top of industry trends and opportunities, consistently expanding abilities and learning new techniques, skills, and tools.
  • Eye for continuous process and procedure improvements.
  • Passion for accuracy and thoroughness with the ability to monitor and check own work to ensure quality.
  • Necessary organizational skills to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to all levels and group sizes.
