Job Description

Join our winning team as an Electrical Designer in Niagara Falls, NY. In your role as an Electrical Designer, you perform a wide variety of design functions on projects requiring a broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals including budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specifications, building codes, construction techniques, building material and costs.

Electrical Designer Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and design electrical construction packages for Chlor-Alkali plant projects which may include replacements, improvements, etc
  • Assist in developing and maintaining scope of work, cost estimates, schedule and staffing requirements
  • Accomplish all administrative functions for projects assigned including preparing and maintaining the following: Drawing and specification list, Work progress and evaluation data, Management of Change requests
  • Coordinate work execution with other disciplines to ensure all requirements are met
  • Review design, layout specifications and engineering details for compliance with statutory code requirements
  • Check and review shop drawings before release, and periodically visit construction site to review progress and assist in solving construction problems and drawing interpretation
Electrical Designer Minimum Requirements:
  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years technical design related experience; OR
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 1+ year of related work experience
  • Knowledge of NEC code
  • Relevant experience with low and control voltage, medium voltage, high voltage, and power distribution systems
  • Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to, climbing stairs and ladders
  • Able to digest and disseminate written information and make numerical calculations sufficiently well to perform assigned general and specific duties and responsibilities.
  • CAD skills and other basic computer skills including Word and Excel; 3-D modeling and SAP knowledge preferred

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $85,000 to $110,000. This salary range is only an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
