Job Description

SUMMARY

Support the onshore operation team, site manager and supervisors with the implementation and daily requests and follow-up with the client customer. The marshaling hub or logistics hub is located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, US, where the Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) components are to be delivered, stored, partially constructed and loaded onto barges for transport to the wind farm. Under this Service, Supplier will ensure the implementation and adherence to the Client project EHS plan, Client EHS management system, and Customer EHS requirements.

Note: It is mandatory to comply with our Integrity program and our EHS requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Deploy Client EHS Policy and ensure implementation and follow up of CLIENT project EHS plan onboard the vessels
  • Monitor HSE performance of main contractors and other contractors to ensure best practice performance.
  • Leverage subcontractors EHS performance as per their scope within the project.
  • Support in the implementation of the project specific Offshore Environmental Health and Safety Plan and make sure that all persons working on the scope of the project are informed and understand the sections of the EHS plan relevant to their work.
  • Collect and report observations of near misses, accidents, incidents, and deviations from agreed upon standards and efficiently report through the agreed upon communication channels.
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries, compile and submit accident reports/statistics required by the organization.
  • Monitor the implementation and adherence to the project Offshore Environmental Health and Safety Plan, by performing regular site inspections, site visits of working areas (deck and WTG), and contribute to internal and external audits, assessments, and EHS/site evaluations
  • Ensure that any EHS events are properly reported
  • Provide EHS Support and advice to the Client Site team
  • Report on HS performance, including key EHS KPI's, identification of hazards to health or the environment, analysis of near misses and incidents, to inform site management and project functions.
  • Carry out back to work safety briefing at the beginning of each rotation
  • Assist the site manager in hazard identifications, emergency response plan drills,toolbox talks, site inductions, and training exercise requirements where required.
  • Supplier personnel shall participate to the internal and external emergency drills.

  • Daily regular report on tasks completed, issues found, including summary of activities.
  • Weekly regular report on tasks completed, issues found, including summary of activities.
  • Maintain site HSE files and records
  • 100% Risk assessments & Method statements reviewed and in compliance with Client EHS requirement before job start + coaching on pre job briefing on the field.
  • Client Action Tracking System tool updated on a weekly, target 90% of closed actions.
  • Reports on Emergency drills executed, 1 per month.
  • Lessons Learned Report including improvements recommendations for future projects

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A high degree of awareness of H&S management standards and practices, applicable legislation, and best practice in H&S management, gained in a renewables or offshore setting.
  • B.S. in a Safety Related Discipline is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the OSHA, EPA, and USCG Regulations is a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Highly safety-minded and comfortable working offshore and at heights
  • Have good problem-solving skills and a curiosity towards constantly improving the quality of our work methods and risk assessment.
  • Ability the communicate clearly and communicate key messages at all levels both on and off site
  • Motivated by being part of a high performing team that put proudness into delivering high standards to the benefits of our customers
  • Experience of root-cause analysis techniques, incident investigations and a track record in tracking corrective actions to effective completion
  • Ability to operate and positively influence at all levels in the organization including external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications as well as management software.
  • GWO BST 4 modules
  • Advanced Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E equivalent
  • Knowledge of Lock out Tag out
  • TWIC
  • Preferred rescue method is a self-rescue system
