Pay Range - $122,491.15 - $177,362.83 (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)


GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
A Sales Manager is responsible for all aspects of sales in an assigned product line. This includes working to increase business within individual account bases as well as leading and supporting Sales Engineers in development activity within their account base. This position will require international travel and supervision of sales support or inside/outside sales staff. The position will work closely with applications engineers, production plants, sales management, and supply management.

REQUIREMENTS

4-year degree preferred with technical concentration
10+years recent experience as a Sr. Sales Engineer or District Manager
Strong technical/Engineering comprehension for ceramics products
Ability to work well with other people, both externally and internally
Proven written and verbal communication skills (phone, email, presentations, face-to-face)
Must possess driver's license and be legally able to drive in the US
Exceptional negotiation skills and presentation skills.
Basic proficiency in extracting information from SAP
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for Amoeba Management including monthly financial analysis and reporting (H/E) for an entire product line(s).
  2. Management, supervision, and direction of Sales Staff. This includes coaching, reporting, labor planning, and performance management of staff. Works closely with HR on hiring, discipline, and planning.
  3. Responsible for customer interaction and relationship management within own account base and as an escalation point for customers. Models account management skills to subordinates.
  4. Represents customer requests and perspectives to production and management personnel to plan and execute proper "customer first" support. Visits production facility to ensure understanding and communication for delivery.
  5. Generates new business inquiries, explores opportunities for Ceramic technologies, and supports sales staff development. May participate in merger and acquisition research and represent the product line.
  6. Visits customer base to ensure complete customer satisfaction and develops relationships with senior management at multiple levels.
  7. Drives profitable growth at assigned accounts where a lead role is required and participates in joint calls with regional sales force or production as needed.
  8. Creates and presents engaging PowerPoint presentations to customers and internal management. Excellent oral sales presentation skills.
  9. Communicates with counterparts in Japan on a regular basis for a price quotation, part delivery, technical confirmation, legal language discussion, and general management support. Typically represents the product line for US sales in these calls.
  10. Facilitates business travel with visiting personnel from international production facilities and management during customer visits in USA, and also escorts customer visits to factories in Asia.
  11. Ensures safe work environment. Models ethical work practices and accurate accounting practices. Trains others on philosophy and company policies.
  12. Acts as sales expert and trainer for product line.
  13. Works with Regional Sales Managers and/or General Manager in above tasks to increase Operating Revenue and bookings. Frequently reports on this data including MRM, ORM and other venues as assigned.
