Job Description
Summary

Provides technical sales support for all applications encompassing metrology, demonstration, functionality, and performance. In addition, responsible for quoting and managing contract programming tasks and performing product training.

Job Responsibilities

* Conduct basic hardware and software product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes to prospective and existing customers

* Effectively communicate product benefits for complex applications

* Assist regional sales team in providing product recommendations for customers' applications

* Prepare operating instructions and conducts training programs to meet customers' needs

* Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction

* Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations

* Develop programs/applications that effectively accomplish customer specifications/objectives

* Consults with customers and incorporates needs and feedback into application designs

* Provide technical support to customers

* Ensures programs/applications work properly after maintenance and testing

* Analyze and edit existing programs/applications as needed to optimize performance

* Take a challenging issue from problem statement through to resolution and follow-up

* Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies

* Collaborate with engineering and marketing groups on product development projects

* Learns from and studies experienced Applications Engineers' techniques and work

* Remains current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed

* Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Comfortable speaking before small groups

* Proficient with MS Office

* Strong Customer Service Skills

* Creative, analytical, and driven

* Works under close direction as well as in a team environment

* Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience

* 0-2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment

* Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling

* Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects

* Regularly move around the office and factory floor

* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus

* Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

Work Environment

Employee will encounter work environment characteristics described below while performing the essential job functions and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform the essential job functions, absent undue hardship.

* Primarily an office setting, with occasional visits to the factory floor

* Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated

* Office noise levels are considered low to moderate

* Factory noise levels are considered moderate

* If required, PPE will be provided

* May require travel up to 70%
