SUMMARY: The Data Engineer 2 position will be part of a fun, dynamic team that helps solve integration and data problems relating to the business of sports and entertainment. You will be a good fit for this role if you have a strong experience in data engineering practices like ETL/ELT and are interested in learning about how data plays a pivotal role in the future growth of the sports and entertainment industry. In this position, you will primarily be responsible for understanding and integrating a variety of data sources into our data warehouse using a modern data and technology stack. You will also contribute to, and possibly lead, the design of new data integration processes. As an experienced member of the team, you are expected to assist analysts and BI teams in extracting valuable business insights for our customers and to help steer the continuous improvement and expansion of existing data processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Data Integration
    • Integrate data from various sources using a modern data stack
    • Perform data cleansing and standardization
    • Collaborate with client management to design new data integration pipelines
    • Author and improve data integration pipelines using an enterprise ETL tool
    • Deploy data integration pipelines using an enterprise ETL tool
    • Load data into a cloud data warehouse by running and maintaining data integration pipelines
  2. Business Intelligence & Data Analysis
    • Assist with preparing and loading data for Analysis, BI reports and dashboards
    • Identify opportunities for new data sources
    • Identify opportunities for data process improvements
    • Collaborate with analysts to design creative solutions to data challenges
  3. Ongoing Responsibilities
    • Import and integrate new data sources based on business need
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues
    • Proactively identify potential data problems
    • Identify improvements to existing processes to streamline efforts
    • Handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
    • Monitor, schedule and maintain existing integrations
    • Mentor junior data engineers as needed
  4. Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  5. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in using SQL for data queries and manipulation
  • 2-3 years of experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • 2-3 years of experience working with an Agile methodology
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills to all levels of technical expertise
  • Experience with a data integration platform a plus, such as Snaplogic, Airflow, SSIS, Informatica, etc.
  • Experience with cloud technologies a plus, such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, etc.
  • Experience with BI Visualization tools a plus, such as Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView etc.
